After you receive your first professionally fitted hearing aids, you get to go into the world and enjoy the clearer sound they offer. Part of ensuring you get the best possible sound is scheduling regular follow-up appointments.
Adjusting Sound To Fit Your Needs

When you first got your hearing aids, we programmed them to fit your hearing needs. The programming reflects the results of your hearing test and the measurements we take during your fitting appointment.
During your follow-up appointment, we’ll ask questions about how your devices sound in your day-to-day life. Your feedback will determine whether your devices need adjustments or are perfect for your needs. After you get your hearing aids, pay attention to how they sound from then until your follow-up appointment.
For example, some people find that the settings don’t work as well in busy meetings or that their own voices sound off. Some odd sounds are just part of the adjustment process, like the sound of your voice, while others can be addressed by one of our specialists. We can also show you how to adjust your hearing aid settings in its companion app to suit different environments.
Cleaning Your Hearing Aids
Cleaning your hearing aids nightly will keep their sound clear and extend their lifespan. A follow-up appointment is like a biannual dental cleaning: you do the daily maintenance, and we’ll do the deep clean. We will also remove built-up moisture to prevent moisture-related damage and keep your devices fresh!
Schedule Your Follow-Up Appointment
Hearing aids could benefit nearly 29 million U.S. adults. Hearing aid follow-up appointments are crucial to getting the best sound and the longest life out of your devices. If you got hearing aids but haven’t scheduled your follow-up appointment yet, call Center for Hearing & Speech today.
