Financial Assistance for Hearing Healthcare and Assistive Devices (Hearing Aids, etc.)
We provide, or help our Audiology patients secure, need-based financial assistance, ranging from partial to full funding. Most patients who receive financial assistance have some out-of-pocket cost. We accept most major insurance and we will always first check to see what benefits you have available to you.
Here are some ways we can help you access our Audiology services, including obtaining hearing aids:
Low-interest loans: The Center for Hearing & Speech is proud to partner with Midwest BankCentre to provide a low-interest loan for all who qualify. Applications can be completed quickly and easily by phone. Your Audiologist or our clinic staff can assist with the application during your visit.
We accept CareCredit: Use it to pay for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by medical insurance, and special financing options are available that you may not be able to get with other cards.
Vocational Rehabilitation: Some patients, who work or want to work, or are pursuing a college/technical school degree, may be eligible for hearing aid assistance through Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation services. Your Audiologist can help you determine if that’s a good fit during your visit.
Center for Hearing & Speech Financial Assistance: Available only for those with qualifying incomes, sliding scale financial assistance (from a portion to all of your cost) is a program administered by the Center. Applications are approved quarterly. Applications may be submitted during the following open application periods.
- December 1st – January 5th
- March 1st – March 30th
- June 1st – June 30th
- September 1st – September 30th
If requests exceed resources, patients will be notified and encouraged to re-apply during the next open application period.
Center for Hearing & Speech Missouri Red Card Assistance (RCA) Program: If a patient has a type of Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet) that does not include hearing aid or hearing healthcare benefits this program may be able to assist.
Applications are approved quarterly. Applications may be submitted during the following open application periods.
- December 1st – January 5th
- March 1st – March 30th
- June 1st – June 30th
- September 1st – September 30th

Senior Connections: Because of a generous grant from the St. Louis City Senior Fund, a limited number of qualifying seniors living in the City of St. Louis may qualify for free hearing aids.
The Center frequently engages new partners who want to invest in transforming lives by empowering communication.
