There\u2019s nothing more frustrating than losing something valuable, especially if it\u2019s something that helps you hear and navigate the world around you. If you\u2019ve lost your hearing aid, try not to panic. Instead, you should follow these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check Your Phone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you own a modern hearing aid<\/a>, it may have a \u201cfind my hearing aid\u201d feature that\u2019s accessible through the smartphone you bought at CommDepot<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How you access this information depends on what hearing aid you have, but all are similar. For the Oticon On app<\/a>, you would first open the app, then tap \u201cHearing aids\u201d on the tab bar. After that, tap \u201cFind my hearing aids.\u201d A proximity bar will tell you how close you are if the hearing aids are still connected. If they\u2019re not connected, the app will tell you the date and time as well as the location of where they were last connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check Your Surroundings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your hearing aids aren\u2019t compatible with an app or if this doesn\u2019t prove to be successful, the next thing you should do is check your immediate surroundings. Be sure to check your hair, collar and hood, as these are common places your hearing aid could be caught up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walk carefully to ensure you don\u2019t accidentally step on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retrace Your Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This may seem like frustrating advice, but it could pay off. Revisit everywhere you\u2019ve been since you last remember having your hearing aid, taking the same path. If you\u2019ve already retraced your steps once to no avail, try it again and see if you have a different result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Report It Missing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tell everyone you\u2019re with and everyone you\u2019ve seen that you lost your hearing aid, including business managers at establishment\u2019s you\u2019ve visited. This way you have more people keeping their eyes peeled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell Your Audiologist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While your audiologist isn\u2019t going to hit the streets to help you look for your device, they will be able to tell you if your devices are covered under a one-time loss and damage warranty.
